We have selected many items, including the colors of the rainbow as well as tie-dye t-shirts, as they coincide with the LGBTQ+ Pride Flag, featuring 6 colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Violet. The flag was originally developed in 1978 by Gilbert Baker, an openly gay man, activist, and drag queen. The colors were initially different, each representing aspects of human life. The design was chosen as the rainbow is a natural part of the sky, as LGBTQ+ identity is a natural part of humanity and culture, but also because it is a stand-out way of proclaiming identity and working towards normalcy within the culture at large.
